Junior Golfers Invited to Compete in the 

WINUM District Optimist of Optimist International Event

Green Bay, WI – The WINUM District of Optimist International invites local junior golfers to compete in the upcoming WINUM District Junior Golf Event on June 10th, 2018 at Thornberry Creek at Oneida Golf Course. The tournament is for

BOYS in 4 age Divisions including 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-18

and for

GIRLS in 3 age Divisions including ages 10-12, 13-14 and 15-18

Top young competitors can qualify to move on to compete in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships in late July at PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. From the district-level tournament, there are 2 SLOTS PER AGE DIVISION which will be able to advance to the international tournament.

To register for WINUM DISTRICT Optimist Junior Golf Event, junior golfers can contact Tony Yaggie WINUM District Optimist Govenor.   A registration form will be emailed to all interested Junior Golfers. The registration form must be completed and returned by June 1st , 2018.

Last year the WINUM District Junior Golf Event was excited to have one of the Girls Junior Golfers qualify and advance to participate in the Optimist International Junior Golf Champsionship in Florida.

Each year hundreds of junior golfers ages 10 to 18 travel from throughout the world to play in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships at PGA National Resort and Spa. The tournament brings together some of the world’s most talented young competitors, many of whom have the potential to become leading collegiate and professional golfers in the future. About the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships

The Optimist International Junior Golf Championships is one of the largest and best-known junior golf tournaments in the world. Each year, more than 600 golfers participate in the Optimist Junior Golf Tournament. Optimists have been involved in the sport of junior golf for more than 30 years by holding local, regional and international tournaments. More than 5,000 golfers compete in official Optimist District qualifying tournaments. The best of these golfers, along with international golfers from around the globe, advance to the annual Optimist International Junior Golf Championships.
